Twitter Struggling? What a Shame...

Your editor is not a fan of Twitter, in case you hadn't picked up on that in recent months. So it was with a touch of glee that we read this week that Twitter isn't keeping up very well from traffic from the World Cup. We knew there was a reason why we were soccer fans... Maybe the World Cup will be the event that brings Twitter down once and for all. We can only hope. In the meantime, of course, you can follow RCPU at http://twitter.com/leepender, as always.

I'm not a huge fan of Twitter either. I respect the Twitter founders a great deal more than the Facebook creators, though, who are unethical to the extreme. But both Twitter and Facebook are companies that seem to miss the point, in my book. That point being: the way you start a valid company is to gain investor's money, use it to get up your business up and running with a solid business model, and then become a bona fide, **profit**-making established business on your own! Both of these companies unfortunately just don't seem to get that. Seriously, could you ever see Warren Buffett investing in Twitter or Facebook? It wouldn't happen. These companies are hugely successful in terms of # of users, but they are still HIGH RISK. What's the issue here?? Get a business model and make some friggin money people!!
