Microsoft is acquiring two Dynamics AX-related solutions from partner Blue Horseshoe, the company announced during Monday's opening keynote of its Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Houston.

Blue Horseshoe, a past Microsoft Dynamics Distribution Industry Partner of the Year, is a privately held consulting firm with a focus on supply chain management based in Indianapolis, Ind.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it involves Microsoft acquiring Blue Horseshoe's Warehousing for AX (WAX) and Transportation for AX (TRAX) products.

"This technology will help Microsoft accelerate its Microsoft Dynamics AX supply chain management roadmap with plans to make the functionality available to the broader Dynamics AX channel partner and customer community," Blue Horseshoe said in its press release.

WAX brings supply chain and warehouse management capabilities to Microsoft's Dynamics AX product, while TRAX brings transportation planning capabilities. Both solutions are part of Blue Horseshoe's Supply Chain Suite for Dynamics AX, and are designed to help partners provide vertical solutions to customers in the retail, manufacturing and distribution industries.

"Blue Horseshoe's advanced supply chain solutions not only support our direct customers, but have also proven beneficial to many other Microsoft partners and their clients. Our company is excited about the collaboration with Microsoft and our ability to continue to grow and advance within the supply chain industry," said Blue Horseshoe President Chris Cason in a prepared statement.
