NetIQ To Ship Analysis Center Update

Enterprise management software vendor NetIQ will ship its new Analysis Center 2.5 package on June 22, the company says.

The update includes the addition of integration with Microsoft SharePoint technologies, a common reporting infrastructure, and a new name. (The product was previously called AppManager Analysis Center.)

Version 2.5 of NetIQ Analysis Center introduces converged AppManager and NetIQ Security Manager reporting, and common reporting and analysis on a single console.

For instance, with version 2.5, if a security issue like a virus attack was creating system slowdowns, an administrator would be able to see the correlation between the two – a security issue and a system impact -- more easily than before since both sets of information appear on the same administrator's console.

In a statement, the San Jose, Calif.-based company called Analysis Center 2.5 "a key component of NetIQ's Knowledge-Based Service Assurance strategy," which is directed towards helping IT staffers meet their service-level agreements (SLA).

"It helps to provide a more complete understanding of how these types of activities to help them meet their SLAs," says Kurt Stoll, product marketing manager for NetIQ's performance and availability products.

The new release also adds SharePoint integration for access to live dashboard reports and improves upon usability and performance from previous NetIQ Analysis Center versions, the company said.

The previous version of Analysis Center was released at the end of 2004, Stoll said. Analysis Center 2.5 will start at $150 per server.
