Aelita Supports Pre-Release Versions of Windows Server 2003

Windows network tools specialist Aelita Software Corp. is taking the plunge and supporting pre-release Windows Server 2003 code for its customers, the company said Thursday.

As one of the major vendors helping companies migrate networks to Windows Server 2000, to Active Directory and, starting in April, to Windows Server 2003, Aelita has a vested interest in being among the first to support Microsoft's next server operating system.

Aelita also plans to support the production version once it is available from Microsoft.

Aelita's software can be used to migrate users to Windows Server 2003, to administer and secure a Windows Server 2003-based Active Directory, to back up and recover Windows Server 2003 and to manage Windows Server 2003.

Microsoft renamed its server product from Windows .NET Server 2003 to Windows Server 2003 on Thursday. The server is currently in the Release Candidate 2 testing phase.
