Frederiksen Shifts Out of Windows Post

Long-time Windows advocate John Frederiksen is moving on within Microsoft Corp.

Frederiksen was most recently the general manager for Windows marketing at Microsoft, and he oversaw the launches of Windows Me and Windows XP among other projects affecting the critical Microsoft brand.

Frederiksen will be replaced by mobile devices marketing chief Rogers Weed.

Frederiksen will stay with Microsoft, but he and the company have not yet settled on a new position for him, according to a company spokesman.
