NeTraverse Offers 'Linux Alternative to Citrix-Style' Model

The publishers of an application for running desktop Windows applications on Linux are moving to the server side.
NeTraverse Inc. this week launched NeTraverse Server Standard Edition, designed to let users run Windows programs on the Linux platform without the need to execute Windows applications from their desktops.
The company calls it "a Linux alternative to the 'Citrix-style,' server-based, thin-client computing model."
NeTraverse cites one customer supporting 100 concurrent users, and the company is working on a mid-year release called NeTraverse Server Advanced Edition for larger server configurations.
The software runs on a Linux or Intel-based Unix server and clients can use any display capable of X Windows sessions.
NeTraverse's desktop product is called Win4Lin Desktop Edition.
