IBM, Alcatel Join Forces to Deliver Network Solutions

Alcatel and IBM Corp. announced an agreement to integrate their information technology and communications expertise, offering advanced network solutions to Carrier, ASP and enterprise customers.

The companies will focus their joint efforts on Internet data centers, the technology hubs that link the IT infrastructure with networking infrastructure and communication software. IBM (www.ibm.com) is a recognized provider of IT infrastructure while Alcatel (www.alcatel.com) is known for its networking and communications hardware and software.

Additionally, IBM Global Services said it will establish a global practice to integrate Alcatel enterprise solutions with a special focus on U.S. and European international enterprises. These solutions will also include Alcatel Carrier, Genesys, and Newbridge solutions. - Isaac Slepner
