GraphOn, Corel Team in China Partnership

GraphOn Corp., a developer of Web-enabling software, signed an exclusive agreement with Corel Corp. to market and distribute WordPerfect Office 2000 for Windows and Linux platforms as well as Corel Linux OS for the desktop as part of GraphOn's solution for China's education system.

GraphOn (www.graphon.com), which announced its entry into the Chinese market in November, has been working with China's Ministry of Education in the development of a strategy to provide productivity solutions to the education system.

China's Ministry of Education has already implemented GraphOn Bridges Web-enabling software, which provides a thin client, centrally managed system for deploying applications into China's schools. The Corel (www.corel.com) WordPerfect Office Suite and Linux OS for the desktop enable GraphOn to provide a comprehensive solution for the Chinese educational market.

"Starting with China's educational system, we can present a comprehensive suite of applications for the Windows and Linux platforms, Linux operating system, and of course our Bridges technology that will free China's schools to move to Linux while preserving their investment in Windows. GraphOn wins, Corel wins, and China's educational system wins," said GraphOn president and CEO Walt Keller. - Isaac Slepner
