Fortner Makes Complex Data Access Easier

Fortner Software, a maker of data access, management, and visualization software, today announced the availability of two new technical data access tools. The HDF Import Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop v2.0 lets scientists and engineers quickly visualize complex science data stored in the Hierarchical Data Format (HDF), a widely used general purpose technical data format. The SciSpy Webview (v1.0) client/server application allows anyone to publish and share data stored in the HDF format on the Internet.
The HDF Import Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop allows users to import and render complex HDF data, like that generated by NASA's Landsat 7 satellite, with Photoshop. Users can convert their data to HDF, then view and edit it with Photoshop. They can then share it on the Web with SciSpy Webview.
The HDF Import Plug-in 2.0 runs on Windows 98/NT and Power Macintosh and is compatible with Adobe Photoshop versions 5.x. SciSpy Webview can run on any Windows-based server that supports CGI.
