In late April Microsoft released to manufacturing two new products in its System Center suite, System Center Essentials 2010 and Data Protection Manager 2010.
Essentials is a branding term Microsoft tends to use for midmarket-focused products. They are designed to meet the standard requirements of 50 to 500 PC shops with limited IT staff, and the products come with slightly less functionality than related enterprise products. On the System Center side, the product family includes four main products for enterprise customers: System Center Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Virtual Machine Manager and System Center Service Manager.
